A hearty welcome to KLS Memorial Hospital
Located in the quiet lanes of Irla, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai, KLS Memorial Hospital is a unique amalgamation of thirty years of tradition of continuous service and the modern technology of the twenty-first century. The journey which started with a small clinic and a nursing home owned by Dr. Sadiwala has today culminated into a seventy bed multi-specialty hospital. Each human being, who visits this place, be it a general visit or a big operation, he or she is firstly exposed to the smile and great welcome. We think that the process of treatment is not only about medications, but about a human touch.

Our Objective, Vision and Principles
Mission
Our goal is to provide the best medical services with the latest technology, but in a way that every patient feels dignity, belonging and compassion. We want that expensive treatment is not considered good treatment; the best treatment should also be within the reach of common people.
Vision
To set an example of patient-centric and sensitive healthcare in India—creating an environment where every doctor, nurse and support staff is an epitome of transparency, evidence-based decisions and trust.
Our Core Values
- Empathy – Listening to every patient like a family member and deciding treatment keeping in mind the whole body-mind.
- Trust – Open billing, clean processes and honest answers to every question.
- Evidence-based treatment – Decisions based on latest research and national/international guidelines.
- Accessibility – 24×7 services, easy appointments, location near station-highway.
- Affordability – Packages are designed in such a way that the quality is not compromised and the pocket is not burnt.
- Care over cure – The disease continues to be cured, but at the same time emphasis is on prevention and healthy lifestyle.
Example: Many elderly patients come just for consultation. The doctor first understands their daily routine, food, sleep and stress. Sometimes, instead of changing the medicine, blood pressure is controlled by just suggesting walking schedule, light food and yoga.
Features and facilities of the hospital
- 70 in-patient beds – deluxe, single, double and triple sharing rooms; natural light in every room, AC, attendant sofa-cum-bed.
- 13-bed ICU and HDU – intensivist present 24 hours, advanced ventilator, central oxygen, monitor above every bed which can also be viewed by the doctor through a mobile app.
- 4 modular operation theatres – laminar air-flow, HEPA filter, minimum risk of infection.
- 11-chamber OPD – Different specialists in one block, so patients don’t have to run to different buildings.
- 6-station dialysis unit – High-flux machines; water quality ensured by RO-UV triple filtration.
- Emergency & Trauma Centre – Rapid triage understanding the importance of golden eye; team takes station briefing as soon as ambulance arrives.
- Complete diagnostic – Digital X-ray, 3-D/4-D ultrasound, CT, lab; most reports are mailed/Whatsapped the next day morning.
- Licensed blood storage – Rare blood group units are also pre-booked to avoid last minute delays.
- In-house pharmacy and cafe – Essential medicines stocked; diabetic friendly and gluten-free options in the cafe.
Imagine, if a patient needs CT, blood test and cardiology OPD at the same time, he does not have to visit different hospitals.
Centers of Excellence
1. Minimal access and advanced laparoscopic surgery
Team-lead Dr. Chirag A. Sadiwala made headlines by removing 206 gallstones safely in a single laparoscopic procedure. Smaller incision, less pain, quick recovery–this is the advantage. Now obesity (bariatric), complex hernia and colon surgery are also done with this technique.
Case study: 48-year-old Mrs. Desai used to have frequent gastric pain. She was afraid of open surgery. Operation in 45 minutes by laparoscopy, walk on the second day and home on the fifth day. Joined office after six weeks.
2. Bone and Joint Institute
Dr. Run by Pranav Agarwal; From sports injuries to hemi-arthroplasty of a 95-year-old grandfather—our goal is moving life. The physiotherapy team teaches the patient to walk every morning to improve blood flow and keep the lungs strong.
3. Cardiac Sciences
Chest-pain clinics, angiography, pacemaker implants, cardiac rehab; all with a human approach. For example, we run a Healthy Heart club for heart-attack survivors where yoga instructors, dieticians and cardiologists provide counselling.
4. Women and Child Welfare
Pre-conception counselling, delivery to latching, vaccination to school-health checks—all under one roof. Our NICU team has even given life to a 28-week-old premature baby.
5. Kidney and Urology
Endo-urological stone management with dialysis, laser surgery of prostate, and counseling for kidney transplant.
Other major departments
Internal Medicine, Diabetes, Neurology, Oncology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Dentistry, Physio & Sports Medicine, Plastic Surgery, Homeopathy and Integrative Medicine—consultants in each field are board-certified and fellows of several international societies.
Our initiatives to ease the patient journey
- Registration – Online-form, Phone or Foot-fall; Separate counter for senior citizens, VRamp at luchair entry.
- Pre-admission kit – estimated expenses, documents, diet guide, insurance team contact.
- On admission – Care coordinator takes you to the room, introduces you to the nursing staff, explains the bed-side board which has your medicines, doctors, today’s plan written on it.
- Hospital stay – Multi-disciplinary rounds, Patient relation manager visit every morning, updates to relatives on mobile app.
- Discharge and home care – Summary in simple language, e-prescription; Health care assistant sends home if needed.
Small but interesting aspect: Many times patients forget at what time to take the medicine. Our app sends reminders in the morning and evening and if the patient does not press the button on time, the health agent calls.
Preventive Health Package
- Executive Wellness – Cardiac Stress-Echo, Liver-Kidney Profile, Cancer-Markers in a single day.
- Senior Citizen Gold – Bone-density, fall risk assessment, eye-ear check-up, physician consultation.
- Female Complete Check-up – Breast Ultrasound, Pap Smear, Hormonal Balance, Vitamin-D.
- Young Hearts Basic – Lipids, HbA1c, ECG, Lifestyle advice.

With these initiatives, we believe that the distance between illness and health will reduce.
Technology that cares
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) – Reports are never lost, doctors can view them from anywhere.
- PACS Imaging – Radiologist reports uploaded in minutes; patients do not have to visit the hospital again and again.
- Negative-Pressure OT – Air flows inwards, prevents external germs from entering, 40 percent less infection.
- Smart ICU Monitoring – Algorithm alerts nurse by changing colour as soon as it sees any parameter deteriorating; in serious cases beep on doctor’s mobile.
- Green Hospital Practice – LED lights, separate garbage, e-billing; environmental protection is also our social responsibility.
Understand in simple language: This hospital uses less paper, more clicks. Your prescriptions are safe on the cloud, not in the locker.
Quality and safety are our first priority
- NABH norms – Audit of every corner of the hospital.
- Weekly Sterilization Test – Certified by external lab.
- Bar-code medicine distribution – Possibility of wrong medicine reduces by 95 percent.
- Infection monitoring – Tracks catheter and ventilator-related infections; changes protocols as needed.
